Photographic website services
I offer photographic services for brochure websites to provide promotional and product images when required. This can either be on-site or studio work.
promotional and product website photography
Most websites have photos on them. Good photographic images can greatly enhance the look of your site. The converse also applies, a bad photograph not only looks unpleasant but also damages your website's credibility, which in turn reduces customer confidence and sales. Photographs can and must work towards enhancing the site and supporting the businesses goals and objectives. This especially holds true with regard to both promotional photography and product photography.
Images can fall into several categories: decorative, mood setting and informational. In reality there is often something of a mix of these in varying proportions.
The benefits: Good photos add credibility, information and interest.
Advancements in internet connectivity have meant more extensive use of images in web sites. However it is still very important that images are optimized for the web and download rapidly. Waiting for unnecessarily bulky photo files to display or any information to arrive on a page is frustrating. As a freelance website designer and photographer I am passionate about the use of photographs in website designs.
photographic editing for brochure websites
I work in Photoshop to enhance and improve basic image quality, moving a photograph from the passable to the usable. This can involve anything from the removal of dust and colour casts from analogue photographs to the removal of unwanted elements from an otherwise decent digital image.
The interiors photo above left was an old analogue image (photograph) that had defects of being under exposed, poorly framed, slightly lopsided, dust specked with an unwanted colour cast. After a Photoshop edit (right) the main faults have undergone subtle correction to provide a more usable image.
Most defects can be corrected in image editing programmes: removal of yellow colour casts from tungsten light, cropping to remove unwanted elements or better frame the image, background editing, removal of photo processing faults, blemishes and dust. Remedial and enhancement work can also include: exposure adjustments to parts or the whole of an image, enhanced colour and saturation, photo montage work such as combining two images, the addition of text and watermarks and the removal of red eye.
Key words and copyright notice can be added to the associated xmp. file data.
As well as product and services photographs, useful images for website designs might include the photography of premises and staff.
Having photographic website services for brochure site development in house, simplifies the design process and production of effective custom websites.
